Hi everyone ive just decided to build a new rig for bf3 , portal 2, skyrim etc.......
and i was wondering if this is good enough to play most games on high to ultra
my specs are as follows:

Processor - Intel i5 2500k
Graphics Card - Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 (GV-N56GOC-1GI)
RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws X 8GB(2x 4GB) PC3-12800 / 1600MHz
Motherboard - ASRock Z68 EXTREME3 GEN3 Motherboard
PSU - Aywun Mega Power Pro Series 650W ***OR*** Corsair Builder Series CX-600 V2 (would they be good enough to run the 560???? with maybe abit of room to overclock the cpu and gpu ABIT?)
Case - Antec Two Hundred V2 Versatile ATX Tower Gaming Case
Monitor - 22" 1080p

btw if you have any reccomendations for a different psu or case for a similar price i live in australia
and im buying everything of http://www.mwave.com.au ...

thanks, stapo19

I don't know much about Aywun PSU's so I can't comment on that.I would say that the Corsair PSU is a stable one and gets good remarks in the reviews but you could do better for the price.

Antec VP 650 watt

With a single GTX560 you should be able to play BF3 and Skyrim on high settings without any problems. All of the old source games you'll have no problem at all maxing out. Also you don't need a 650 watt to run a single GTX560 but it's good for future upgrades.Perhaps you may want to SLI someday.

The aywun PSU is pretty bad. The corsair is miles ahead for sure.

A 560 will play most games at near max settings EXCEPT for BF3. My single 580 only gets 45fps with everything max plus AA.

it will play high settings though, and it still looks great.

That's strange, my rig plays BF3 at 45 FPS, and my GPU is a 560 ti. BTW I play at 1080p.

everything at ultra with 16 AF and 4xAA?

my 580 seems perfectly in line with all the benchmarks and reviews, so i'm sure you are not at the same settings.

Nope, Ultra, 4xAA, 1080p, 16x AF. All there, just a 2gb frame buffer and OC'd bits. Check my config if you're wondering about OC's and stuff.

I find that a little hard to believe. since its well known a single 580 won't max the game, and that every bench ive seen shows between 40-50 fps at those settings.

hell, My previous setup had Two 560 TIs in SLI, and it only barely got a decent 60.

how overclocked are you exactly? granted, im currently running at stock but it seems impossible a 560ti is getting the same performance as a 580.

I got 45fps with my MSI R6970 Lightning and a AMD 1100T @ 4.2...

I'm not convinced most people understand what an average framerate is. You cant jsut look at it occasionally and say because its usually at 45 thats your average. you have to take into account all the times it goes below that.

im looking at lots of benchmarks and consistently seeing the 580 at about 45. So my card is not under performing.

don't want to derail thread anyway, this is very off topic. but it always seems that people have cards that are far more powerful than they could actually be.

i would swap for a corsair psu (i have the hx750) and step up to the 570. its quite a bit better when i compared it to my friend who has a 560ti. im rocking the evga 570 hd (the non overclocked one) and i pull ultra at 1080p with 50fps easy even with the stock clocks. when oc'd it just gets better from there :D

To max out Battlefield, DICE themselves said that you would need TWO 580s to run it smoothly. If I were you, I would wait for the entire Kepler line to be released, and maybe grab a 660 Ti (supposedly equivalent to the 580 in performance). What is your budget? I would really suggest a single 680, but not if it's not in your price range.

hey dude they don't have that many models in that shop, but the 7850 is under $300 there, should overclock nicely and smokes the 560ti and probably 570 in most cases with an overclock
