i5-430m - ASUS Laptop; can I upgrade to 3rd generation i5 or i7?

I have an ASUS K52JR laptop and want to know if I can upgrade to a 3rd generation i5 or i7? Is it the same socket? I hope so... ??

I had to check that for myself to answer in one of his other posts, but it actually is. Both the first gen and third gen mobile i5's are PGA988 (and I would imagine second gen, too).

430m: http://ark.intel.com/products/43537/Intel-Core-i5-430M-Processor-%283M-Cache-2_26-GHz%29

3210m: http://ark.intel.com/products/67355/Intel-Core-i5-3210M-Processor-3M-Cache-up-to-3_10-GHz-rPGA

Edit: Unless rPGA988B is physically incompatible with PGA988, for some reason.

It doesn't matter though. Like I told him in the other thread, it won't work, regardless.

Yeah, that's basically what I told him in the other thread, but I checked the board for that model, and it does have an actual socket.

I would bet my house on it only being able to support first gen CPU's though.
