I installed a piece of NCP 256MB PC133 (3rd party) into a celeron system but only half of the 256MB detected, it is very strange.
the system configuration:
celeron 466
Abit VA6 (VIA Apollo Pro 133) mobo
windows 2000
latest mobo bios from ABit (2001)

RAM configurations:
3 pieces of RAM
(128, 128, 256)
but only 392 MB detected

1 piece of RAM
(256) but only 128MB detected

Please help!

Ensure the 256 board is in memory slot 1. If you have moved the 128Mb boards, it may be one of them incorrectly seated or a bad slot. Try them one at a time to see what does and doesn't get detected. If with only the 256 board you get 128 detected, I'd check out the board to make sure it really is a 256 board.
