Can one see an antiglare screen on a computer screen in the sun

I am getting ready to purchase a new laptop. I have bad eyes and may on occasion use it on a patio or at a park. I can not see my cell phone screen outside. Will an anti-glare screen be any better on a laptop?

  1. Cell phone screens are difficult to see because of their low brightness. It just gets washed out by the reflected sunlight. I don't think anti-glare coatings help with this very much, if any. If you're concerned about visibility outside, you need a very bright screen.
  2. What are you doing in the sun? With a computer/laptop? [snicker]

You are going to burn up! [snicker]
  3. Get an umbrella.
