Latest intel chipset and cpu socket?

Hey guys i was just wondering what is the latest chipset and cpu socket at the moment?

Is the intel socket 1155 ivy bridge the latest socket
and Z77 the latest chipset
and intel 3rd generation cpu's the latest?

Yes the 3rd gen (ivy bridge) CPUs are Intel's latest and the latest chipset is probably the Z77.
LGa 1155 is Intel's latest and so is LGA 2011 for Sandy Bridge -E CPUs

Depends on what you are doing, the I5 3570K is considered the best for gaming, any i7 is for programs that use all threads and cores like video editing/image editing, things like that, they can still game but there won't be a noticeable difference between an i5 and a i7 in gaming.

SB-E CPUs are expensive-er than Ivy (1155) CPUs.

I think technically LGA2011 is latest socket, but Z77 (1155) is the latest chipset
