I am running prime95 on a new overclock. I am using the ASUS thermal radar and core temp just to be safe and I am glad i did. ASUS says the chip gets to 53c under load but coretemp says it only gets to 42c. What gives here? I am not really wanting to torture test my rig if I am not getting the real temps.

FYI its a 8120 running at 3.9 with 2133 ram running at 2000, and a evga superclock cooler.

OK found the issue. aida64 and core temp are measuring the cores individually at 42c. but aida64 does have an overall temp of 52c under load. HW monitor 52c, ASUS 52c. Core temp is not giving me a overall temp only the temps of each core. When overclocking should I go off each core or overall temp? I would think overall but I just want to be sure. Also, does anyone know the max safe temp for FX chips?
