Can I get more out of this comp?

I have an HP H8-1214 desktop, it has an amd fx-6100 processor and a GTX550 ti gpu with 600 psu that I installed. Anything else I can do to push the performace of this? It does really well for the most part but would like to run WoW on ultra settings with no issues. I can run it on ultra as is, but I do get big framerate drops in heavy populated areas etc.

More about comp
  1. You will, thats the nature of multiplayer online...
You can load wow to an SSD and that will help the graphics load faster when you enter those populated areas. lowering shadows helps alot too, aa/msaa as well
  2. Or replace the 550 vid card. 550s are low end vid cards. Get a 660ti or 7870 minimum and try it out.

Nvidia's site shows the gtx550ti reccomended settings to be on ultra on wow and still maintain 60fps. I'm seeing around 30-45 fps on ultra dipping into the 20's and teens when there is alot going on. I thought maybe the processor is holding it back? If a higher end card will help I would do that, because im about to upgrade another comp in our house and I could just put the 550ti in that one and put a higher end card in this comp
  4. 550 are lower mid end cards. Low end vid cards at gt640 and below.
  5. You don't need a 7870 for WoW. You'd be fine with a 7850.

Try downloading the Bulldozer patch for Windows. Helps performance.

Then, update GPU drivers to 306.23.
