Key board becomes unresponsive when mouse gets connected??

hi all,

so i decided to use my wireless mouse again today as my wired one broke ... but only to find out that my keyboard cuts out every couple of minutes which as you can imagine is very annoying especially when your gaming and there are zombies chasing you (happens in all games )

i have the microsoft wireless 2000 combo
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ps. i have replaced the batteries today so that isnt the problem.

sounds like rf interference then. do you have an option of changing channels in the mouse or keybd?
