On my previous 6610 (which I had for 11 months) the keypad lights
started intermittently flickering during use quite a few months back
and one of my local nokia service centres replaced the keypad module
which solved the problem. I've now had a 6610i for a few weeks and its
now got a flickering keypad so will be off to the service centre soon!

bloody nokia!!!!

Think it's to do with the way the mainboard is secured in the chassis.
There seems to be some inherent flexing, which may affect the board's
contact with the power strip behind the keypad.

The only temporary solution I found was to *gently* adjust the tightness of
the torx screws independently. Try this at your own risk. Don't blame me
if you snap the board in frustration!

I don't have a 6610 anymore. This flickering is a shame, because it's a
great looking phone and not a bad performer.

thanks for the info. I'll be taking it to my local service centre soon
hopefully. The 6610/6610i certainly are great phones and I find it
perfect for my needs as i don't need all the topnotch things on phones
these days!!
