Two computers and printer using a router

Hi,
I have a win 7 and xp computers, both connected to a canon mp520 printer via a router. The win 7 computer prints a test page ok, but the xp will not. The printers are connected and power is on the xp machine cannot print a test page, any ideas how to fix it?

Can you ping the IP of the printer from the XP machine? How is it connected to the printer? Did this work at some point?

hi,
the printer is connected to my frontroom computer(win7) and router and wireless to the bedrom computer(xp). i had it working , a computer man got it working.
But now it as stopped. how do i fix it?
I don`t know how to ping it.

OK, you explained things a bit off, the printer is not connected to the router, it's connected to the other computer and then shared out, which is a very different setup. The above posted link should help you.
