Hello folks, looking for a possible upgrade-replace path.
Brought it in 2009, as my first computer, ever not knowing about much anything, mostly looking at low price tag. Using it for gaming, strategy and online FPS'es.
short-term budget:200eur.
location:Estonia
full tower with 120 Chinese front fan and intel stock cooling on CPU. Some time ago I installed, probably stupidly, a dual-fan sapphire HD6950 replacing previous HD4870.
specs:

Gigabyte P31-ES3G
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
HD6950
4gig SSD 2, 400 MHz (5:6) @ 5-5-5-18 ram
samsung 1tb HD103UJ ATA
realtek High Definition audio chip
450W supply

My initial ideas would be upping the RAM, an addition of SSD drive, (new motherboard)?
Any more spec I should post?
thanks for help!

I think you'd be better off taking advantage of that 6950 by going to a new Sandy Bridge or Ivy Bridge CPU that will match its power. You will need a new motherboard to do that - with the one you have, you'll be limited to old LGA775 processors. They'll also take DDR3 memory, not DDR2.

You can probably add about an extra $100-$150 to your budget by selling some of the old parts.

After you get the CPU and GPU both up to date, then the next thing I'd go for as a nice-to-have is an SSD.
