Approximate Purchase Date: Within the next 2 weeks

Budget Range: $800-$1000 after rebates

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, internet browsing

Parts Not Required: Speakers, Possibly Keyboard/mouse (but i would prefer to buy new ones)

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg and Amazon

Country: U.S

Parts Preferences: None really, I do need Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit though.

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe in the future

Monitor Resolution: probably 1920x1080

Additional Comments: Would like to be able to run most current/future games at high or max settings, but if i have to drop to medium for some games I won't die. Case doesn't have to be flashy but i would prefer it not be an eyesore. Noise isn't really a problem as I will be using noise isolating headphones for most audio.

Additionally i have looked at a few parts which I'm interested in, but i have no idea if they will fit within my budget without having to sacrifice GPU/Processor performance.

Here is a list of them with links.

The 500R was actually my preferred case of the 3 so I'll probably get that. I should add I really need help picking a MOBO (clueless as far as specs & price go) and GPU (too many options). As for the processor I'm considering getting an Intel Core i5-3450 Ivy Bridge (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116506) but am largely undecided about it.

Good idea on the CPU. For the board, since the 3450 cannot OC, I recommend the Z77 Pro3 Gen3 board. It is only $105 on newegg. For GPU, the best you can get at that budget is a Radeon 7850. I recommend Sapphire as they are pretty quiet and run relatively cool.

Actually, considering the build is really only $700 because of the OS, Monitor, and Keyboard, I think the most he can squeeze in is the 560ti @ $200, though the 7850 is a nice upgrade.

I might be able to squeeze another $100 or so, but I would certainly be stretching my budget. Also everyone seems to be sold out of Sapphire's 7850, however Newegg has the 7850's from other manufacturers (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007709&IsNodeId=1&Description=radeon%207850&name=Desktop%20Graphics%20Cards&Order=BESTMATCH) I'm not sure which one to choose as they all seem to be at similar price points, except for the HIS card which is about $20 cheaper with a mail in rebate.

This is what I came up with however it is slightly over my budget, and excludes a keyboard, mouse, and monitor.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703027

GIGABYTE GV-R785OC-2GD Radeon HD 7850 2GB

ASRock Z77 Pro3 LGA 1155 Intel Z77

Corsair Carbide Series 500R
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139010

However after looking over Why_Me's post, I am leaning toward his build, seeing as it has a monitor and still leaves me money for a keyboard/mouse. I might swap out 560 ti with a 7850 even though it does cost a bit more. Also I may get a SSD instead of the HDD as I already have a 500 GB external HDD.

Sorry to bump my slightly old thread but I'm going to be ordering my parts tomorrow and i just wanted to make sure everything checks out/is compatible and that I'm not missing anything. I apologize for being so redundant, but this is my first build and I would like as few headaches as possible.

I pretty much can't spend anymore money than what I've listed (Approx $968)

Thanks for everyone's help so far

750w is way overkill. A 500w psu will do the trick. The combo isn't available anymore but there's plenty of decent 500 - 550 psu's available.
