Need some help

i use XFX 5850 Black edition with 500 watt gaming PSU.............my pc has been connected with IPS and also UPS to get rid of loadshedding................my IPS could run my PC when i used Intel HD graphics...but now for using ddr5 graphics now my IPS cant handle my pc....will underclocking help me to reduce volt usage.......any help pls??
