Greetings,

i've one little question. I bought FX-8120 few days ago and speed of stock FAN is bothering me:

5k+ RPM? it's running like Wankel engine, and most certainly sounds like one.

Even CPU clock is going nuts, multiplier actually. from 7x to 14x and even 17x. Just random jumps with Aida64, chrome, skype, steam and xchat running.

The Stock coolers have delta fans (they are a company, its not a type of fan), delta make fans that are loud, fast and push a lot of air.

One of those either takes a considerable amount if CPU usage to run properly your fans are set to run fast in the BIOS.

CPU fan speed is set on Auto, and desirable temperature is on default.

Is it possible just to change Fan on cooler or heatsink how you want to call it.

If you have a standard mini-tower case, invest in a Hyper 21 Evo and all your problems go away.

But check you have cool-n-quiet enabled in bios to see if that helps control fans, stock fans should be able cool the FX even on full load without sounding like a jet engine.

I have somewhat improved Tower case. I just installed 12" Fan with funnel on side of my case and RPM fell down by 2k - 2.5k depends. So, is much much more quiter now. Like intel stock.

I found the stock fan on the FX-8120 to very loud when I got mine also. I ended up getting a XSPC 750 RS240 water cooling kit and even running 4x 120mm fans in a push/pull it is still quieter than the stock fan. Your best bet would be a after market heatsink/fan.

It's running fine now, with this 12" fan surging air from the side stock fan is not noisy anymore and works on 3.5K RPM.
