Help new CPU build!

Hello,
For my gaming build, which is primarily for gaming, im undecided between an i5 3570k or the i7 2700k processor, the i7 has a better max clock speed of just .1 Ghz the rst of the buildwill pretty high end any advice on which one to get?

the i5 3570 is pleanty of raw power for most gaming systems. the i7 do give you hyperthreading but most games dont use it yet.
your better off saving the money on the i5 for a better mb or gpu or ssd.

For a gaming rig go with i5 3570K.

Thanks, but why does it state the max turbo freq of 3.8 when I see some posts of people who is running an i5 2500k at 4.7Ghz?

They are manually overclocking their CPU's. The 2700k's turbo boost is automatic and used when needed.

The 2700k is a more powerful chip, yes. But you would only be taking the full advantage of the hyperthreading if you were video rendering or encoding. So for simple gaming a 3570k would be much more suitable.

I'm starting to understand, the i5's are better for gaming so I will switch to the 3750k

Now for cooling (any advice is welcome), my case will be a corsair 600t case and although I was planning on th H70 water cooler, I have read many good reviews about the CM Hyper 212 evo and this being my first eve build, I'm wondering if the H70 is a slight overkill?
