I wanna spend $500-1000 Dollars in new parts for my System. Im pretty sure i know where i wanna put that money but i thought id ask yall what you thought. I dont know what might be coming out just around the corner and such. Buy now... Buy later? I built this system about 2 years ago

Intel Core i7 920 2.6Ghz (may overclock)
Asus P6T (not deluxe)
OCZ (2GB x 3) 1600Mhz Gold
MSI Twin-Froz Geforce GTX 275 448Bit
Antec 650W PSU
500GB - 100GB WD HD 7200 Rpm
Asus 23" 1080 2ms LCD
$10 logitech keyboard
Logitech G9 Mouse
Logitech G35 Headset

3D Cool Full Tower case. This thing is about 10 years old. I bought it when i built a SCSI machine. The Case has housed 4 computers in its lifetime... Small fans.. heavy.. bulky. Needs an upgrade

The most my computer has to do is play games... GF uses it for FB and whatnot... no biggie. I play Diablo3 BF3, Skyrim. Currently at low FPS :( . I do use Adobe Photoshop CS5 from time to time and wanna be able to do more if i want.

So 500-1000 bucks... where would you put it? A case is a must.. The only fans currently working are the CPU, GPU and Power fan. Need a good case, good airflow, Good CPU Fan/sink

I was thinking of puting in a GTX 670. My Mobo only has PCI 2.0 Will the 670 still work?

Good case and fans. Looks like most are able to overclock there I7 920 to about 3.4Ghz with fan cooling. Suggestions please. (Mine is D0 Stepping i believe)

Should i spend the rest of the grand and upgrade CPU / Ram... Maybe monitor? Surround setup? Im open to any and all ideas. I just wanna play games and have fun. :)

That has crossed my mind many many many times. :)  That would be awsome. I kinda figured a good part would go toward a good GPU. But multi monitor... Yeah it would be nice.. but im not really a hardcore gamer. If its really that much better than... hmm :)

Id like a case with good airflow too... Id like to overlock this CPU. Basicly take 500-1000 bucks and my system and make it the best it can be. :)

Two more monitors will be allot harder to explain than some inside hardware :)  GFs games will always look the same. :)

Im glad no one is mentioning anything about the CPU, RAM, Mobo. How far of a future do you think i have on this I7 920, 6gb before it bottlenecks me. Also... No one said. Will the 670 work on the P6T? it says PCI 3.0 Mine is 2.0

I still use a 775 quad core............ what do you think of yours now ?

don't worry about the pci-e 2.0/3.0. Card will work fine.

PCIe 3.0 is backward compatible to PCIe 2.0. No idea how long the comp will last you into the future. Depends on what you want.
