Hello,
I currently have a gold edition of the GTX 560 TI that overclocks easly to 1 Ghz with very cool temperatures. BUT I was thinking in getting a second one to SLI it but I cannot find another one of those SOO I am thinking now to replace it with the GTX 680!!! & planning in selling my 560 ti. Also iam wondering if I can use BOTH my 560 ti as a physics card n the 680 as the main card??? Also just wondering is a single 680 will perform better than the 2 560ti in SLI mode??
Thank you,
Cesar M

Yes It will perform better than the SLI 560ti's. But not because of number crunching...It actually should be about equal....but it will be much more reliable being non sli.

I would sell the old card and get the 680...but if you are not gaming at 1080p or above then no, I would just stick with the 560ti...

I have the MSI Hawk 560ti, I game at 1680 x 1050, and I love it. But if I was at 1080p, I would go with the MSI 7870 Twin Frosr edition. Has about 60% more performance then the ti.

Yes i am in the same quesiton as you, just waiting to 680 be avaiable on my country, 680 benchmarks says it doubles the 580 performance, what 560ti sli can't do, so 680 is the way.
And yes you could use the 560 to physx, but make sure your PSU is powerfull enough it will yess give you a better physx performance, but i think selling it is the way, i don't think that U$200 will be something acceptable just for physx, but if cash isn't the problem yes it will be a good performance.

But again make sure your PSU can handle both video cards, and also make sure your mobo have 2x pci-e slots that work over 8xE

EDIT: Physx dedicated GPU will be nice because that way the 680 will not waste any performance on physx and you will yes gain a performance boost.

You do not need to get an identical GTX 560 Ti in order to pair them up in SLI. For a very reasonable price you can get a really good, high-end GTX 560 Ti, like the MSI Hawk, that can match the 1000 mhz speed of your existing card. For a about 1/2 the cost of a single GTX 680 you can have similar performance.

Does your motherboard support SLI?

but anywais it is half of the cost, plus the price he already paid for his 560 meaning it will be paying more than a 680 for less performance, that is why, sell your 560 ti, and go with the 680, since it is only double of the price and much more performance/newer technology, etc...

Nope, because if he get a 680 (just if you can get a 680 because the market is out of stock) he will spend alot. I recommend him to get another 560 Ti like someone say before and you will get some kind of brutal performance.

FYI
I run MSi N560GTX-Ti HAWK's in SLi and I decided to keep them for now and not upgrade to the GTX 680..
the HAWK's are almost GTX 570's and can reach them when clocked.
so essentially I have GTX 570's in SLi performance comparison wise..

I was thinking about doing the same BUT i rather have only one card than 2 less space n more airflow & less power consumption.
somebody wats to buy it for 250 already so i just put an extra 250 n I will get the 680 :) plus I would be playing 1080p only + 3d gaming so I think it will be getting very good FPS in everygame.... I hope I can play arma in the highest settings!!!!! :)

I am right now testing 2x 560 ti in SLI, the performance increase over only one video card is outstanding, didn't tested a 680 yet, but 2x560 ti (1gb) is awesome performance, every game i am testing is running at ultra high graphics in 3D at 1080p 60hz.
