Upgrade Assistant Freeze after payment

So I decided to bite the bullet and upgrade to windows 8 while the discount is still available. Immediately after the payment verification through paypal, the window froze up. Has anyone else had this problem? I know its happened to other people because there are complaints on the Microsoft support site from 3 months ago. I did not get a confirmation email or product key. However, paypal has the $39.99 charge pending on my account.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to. Their customer service is garbage. I read that some people couldn't get Microsoft to do anything about it so they had to open a case with paypal. I'll give it a day or two to see if it works itself out. If it doesn't, ill go out of my way to pirate Microsoft software.
