so guyz im gonna leave this question open for everyone:

I have 800$ to buy a pc without monitor, dvdrom, case and PS.

i can only buy through amazon since im shipping it to Venezuela.

so i have taken down my options to the following:

and i5 3450 priced a 190$ with a biostar Tz77a at 110$
and ssd that cost 100$ a pair of corsair vengeance 1600mhz 8gb kit 48$
and the hd7870 350$

total 800$

or

and fx 8120 priced at a 168$ (a good price that shows it where it belongs) with a extreme3 970 asrock at 85$.

a patriot 8gb kit 1600mhz 46$ same ssd for a 100$.

and the solid hd 7950. for 390$ sapphire

wich system will perform better at gamming?

I know that fx 8120 was a big disappointment there is no argue on that. but at 170$ the processor has a good value per $. and the big difference for gamming will be between the 7870 and the 7950. So opinions!!!

thanks a lot

I would consider getting an i5-2400 plus the 7950 as an option. A regular h61 motherboard would be just fine, you could probably get one on Amazon for like $60 or $70 so you should be able to make the price work.

The FX 8120 would have to OC quite a bit to equal a stock 2400 and with a bargain basement motherboard that isn't the easiest thing to pull off.

The 3450 is quite a bit better than the 2400, but it locks you out of the more powerful video card which is a major drawback.

Anyway, the i5-2400 + 7950 system seems to be the best compromise between the two extremes.

hi thanks for the replys.

The i3 is out of the question is not future proof, i do some video encoding and i like how the i5 and the fx8120 perform on that matter, plus multiplayer games like starcraft 2 and BF3 wont do well on an i3.

About the i5 2400 is priced at 190$ same as the i5 3450, so ill need to find a motherboard that will be only 60$.

i was planning if i was getting the i5 3450 to get it at least to 3,5ghz and work on that clock all the time.

I now the fx 8120 gets beaten by the i5 in almost everygame but the difference in some games is just 5-10fps. not worth consideration?
