The i7 is not going to be much more powerful than an i5 for gaming. You could probably save money by going with a 2500k or 3570k for your cpu.

A Micro ATX motherboard really isn't going to give you any option for a later crossfire or SLI.

Thanks. switching to 3570K saved $150 which i can use to get the OS :)

It is worth it because the Z77 chipset allows you to fully make use of IB.

NCIX is a great retailer. However, their prices are not the best. I think that is the Canadian site right? If so, you can try to price match by using these websites: directcanada.com or bestdirect.ca. As for your build, I think you can get better performance for the amount of money you are spending.

i5 3570k (235)
CM Hyper 212 EVO (31)
Asrock z77 Extreme 4 (180)
Muskin Enhanced Blacklyne Frostbyte 8 Gb DD3 1600 CL9 1.5 V (42)
EVGA Geforce GTX 670 (430)
WD Caviar Blue 500 Gb (78)
Mushkin Enhanced Chronos 120 Gb (117)
Corsair Carbide 500R (113)
XFX 550W Core Edition PSU if not SLI'ing (61) or
XFX 750W Core Edition PSU if SLI'ing (95)
LG DVD RW Drive (18)
Your Card Reader (18)

All the prices are quoted from directcanada.com. Total right now is approximately 1357 with the 750W PSU or 1323 with the 550W PSU. :)

Get the GeForce 670. It's PCi express 3.0 not 2.1 like the card you picked.

PCIe 3.0 at this point doesn't matter, but it soon will.

Ya so if you are builfing a new pc. Don't get the newest items like cpu and motherboard and not the graphics card. Do it all now so later on you are all set.

A few thoughts:

The Dark Fleet is not a bad case but the newer trend is fewer fans with larger blades. This provides greater airflow with less noise. The HAF922 is an affordable mid tower case with a full tower interior. Plus it has 200mm fans. I tend to gravitate away from cases with a lot of fans because they require more cable management. The HAF series of cases from Cooler Master are pretty good.

Right now the best bang for the buck graphics wise is the Geforce GTX 670. However if you want to stick with AMD I think I would go with the HD7000 over the HD6000 series as there have been major improvements to the technology especially with DX11 Tessellation.

Not that it matters but you may want to color match components. (as I said not that it matters but I am just picky. Especially when I have a case with a window.)

I don't think I would pay for the CPU installation. It is much easier than you think. The instructions are pretty straight forward. Plus there are numerous guides online. Every now and then magazines like PC Gamer, Maximum PC, or CPU publish cover stories on how to build a gaming rig from scratch.

The Corsair Power supply and the Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo you linked look like solid picks.

IMO, these two GPUs are the best bang for buck out right now: GTX 670 and Radeon 7850.

It looks good to me. If all you're doing is playing games, then you could probably even downgrade your CPU/Mobo to a i5-3450+ASRock z77 Pro-4 and just get a 7970 for the heck of it. But your revised build looks to be a very balanced and powerful machine.

I would look at these changes down below.

A board that runs dual cards for the option to add another card later on and for cheaper

http://ncix.com/products/?sku=71114&vpn=P8Z77-V%20LK&ma... $155.00 After Mail In Rebate: $135.00

This psu down below is manufactured by Seasonic for XFX and not only saves you some money but gets you another 100w of headroom to add another card later on. 650w doesn't cut it for those high end cards if you add extra drives, and o/c.

XFX 750W PRO750W Core Edition Single Rail ATX 12V 62A 24PIN ATX Power Supply 80PLUS Bronze PSU

That power supply you recommended is good but 80+ Bronze. Mine is 80+ gold and since I am not planning to do Crossfire, 650W is enough for what I have.
I actually altered my build quite a bit with other parts. will have final details soon.

Thanks for the input. Appreciate it. :)
