Anandtech GPU 11 shows that there these two cards do not show that much of a difference in terms of fps in games.

The 560 Ti only shows signs of superiority over the 6870 when the amount of fps is not significant (e.g HAWX max details, 1920x1200-104 fps vs 122 fps, respectively)

Other games show a difference of only 1-3 fps in favour of the 560.

Here Down Under, i can purchase a decent XFX 6870 Dual Fan for $200 AUD at my local brick and mortar store. For the GTX 560 Ti, i can get it from a range of brands i.e ASUS, MSI Twin Frozr/Hawk, Gigabyte for around $260 AUD. I could get a Gainward 560 Ti Phantom 1GB for $230, except i'd rather spend that extra $30 to get the other cards mentioned above.

Does anyone have convincing evidence to make me choose the Green over the Red? Because i kind of see the Radeon to be much better value than the GTX. I do know that when 560 Ti is oc'ed it does take the lead, but it is significant for an extra $60?

Does anyone have this 6870 that i have mentioned? If in the affirmative, how high can you oc it?

Thanks guys :)

After viewing a lot of bench marks in almost all of them I got the same stats as you have. So both of you are right in the fact these two card are close and that the 560ti is only in a sence a few fps difference.

So small you would not even notice while playing. So the 6870 would be as good and cost less to own and opperate since it requires les power to run. And sorry I don't know how high you can OC it.

HAWX's benchmark definitely favors nvidia, as everyone knows over here.

Depends on your need, But both the MSI GTX 560 ti Hawk and XFX 6870 DD are pretty much good built cards. Personally I would save money and look to the 6870 :), but if you feel you want to spend more, It's not wrong to take the GTX 560 ti.
