Hi guys. I built a new PC for my friend. New motherboard, power supply, RAM, graphics card and i used the phenom II X3 710 from his old PC and the Western Digital caviar blue 500gb and DVD RW. So i put all components together and i cleaned the CPU and cooler from the old paste and applied new one (coolermaster paste), i just added a small drop and when i placed the cooler onto the CPU and secured it i saw the paste spread on the entire CPU (it was a stock AMD cooler that came with the CPU). When i turned it on, the BIOS reports the CPU is running around 48 degrees so i'm worried did i mess up with the paste or is it a bad quality paste?

Solution
When on the BIOS, there is a load on the CPU so that isn't a idle temp, check idle temps in windows or in what ever OS you are using.

As long as the temps don't reach near 70c then his CPU is fine.
