Low benchmark scores on a 7850

I recently upgraded my girlfriends stationary with a new PSU and a spanking new 7850. I decided to run a 3DMark Vantage Performance test to compare her to mine and a few other buddies. She got a score of roughly 17000 (stock clock), which I thought was a bit low, since it's only about 1000 more than my 6870 (slightly OC). After some Googling most reviews report that it should give about 20-21000 on the performance preset.

Drivers are fresh, it works perfectly in every other scenario. Any idea why it reports such a low score? Thanks.

What are the rest of the specs? Vantage, like 3d Mark 06 is quite dependant on CPU performance.

Here's a screenshot. I thought the "GPU Score" reflected purely on the GPU itself. Is it affected by bandwidth of the NB and RAM speeds as well?

Rest of specs:
C2D Q9550 @ 2.83Ghz
6GB DDR3 @ 1066Mhz
Windows 7 Pro 64bit
500GB 7200RPM HDD

I've Googled around a bit more and found no apparent solution to this. I even tried overclocking is slightly, it raised the scores but it's still way lower than any of the review benchmarks.

Anyone have any input on this?

Don't worry at all. 3Dmark Vantage on Performance mode (Pscore) works on 1280x720 and it depends also from cpu a LOT. Your cpu is bottleneck (at this benchmark) your gpu's potential. Your score is perfectly normal.
Check mine with Q6600 @3Ghz with 4GB RAM DDR2 666hz with a factory o/c GTX570 @750/1500/3900: 3Dmark Vantage OC .
As you can see even though I have a more powerful gpu ( Guru3D 3DmarkVantage tests ) my cpu scores less than yours and while we should have 1200+ marks diff, we have only 400. edit: Guru3D tests had: Processor: Core i7 965 Extreme @ 3750 MHz, Graphics Card: Radeon HD 7850, Radeon HD 7870 - 1 GHz Edition, Memory: 6144 MB (3x 2048 MB) DDR3 Corsair @ 1500 MHz.

Check how 3DMark11 is? There may be a possible bottleneck on the Core 2 Quad. If you would, you can upgrade the motherboard+processor+RAM so that you don't have this issue anymore.
