I need some help choosing a new monitor. I don't need the absolute best image quality but I would like a good compromise between price/quality. I'm looking to spend about $200-$250 on it, and all the suggestions i've seen here are like $300-$400. I would prefer a flat screen one but i could do with curved high quality screen if a flat screen is not available at the $200-$250 price range.
Thanks in advance!

I have a budget monitor. It's a Viewsonic E95. It's not flat but not badly curved either. Has good uniform color with no warm or cold spots. Sharp focus right to the corners (well to 1/4 inch from the corner). Has all the control features you'd expect with a budget monitor plus vertical and horizontal moire and focus adjustments. Max resolution is 1600 x 1200. Dot pitch is .26 mm [<-- correction] (.22 mm horizontal).

Downsides: Only 76 Hz refresh at 1600 x 1200. Menu is awkward.

Upsides: Doesn't have the visible wire lines of AG monitors.

I would have prefered buying a monitor that I could actually see in person but I couldn't find anything I liked locally that was close to my budget, $200.

The E95 was only $203 delivered so I took a chance. It worked out well. I'm really happy with it.

That sounds like something to investigate..thanks for the tip! However, does anyone else have some more suggestions besides the E95? Are there ANY flat screen monitors at $200-$250 at all? If not, I'd prefer to see at least a couple different monitors before I decide to buy one.
