Will you lose performance if you put a PCI-E 2.1 video card in a PCI-E 2.0 Board

I wanna buy a Radeon HD 6870 2GB PCI-E 2.1, but my motherboard only supports PCI-E 2.0. Will I lose a lot of performance if I put this card in my motherboard ?
