Hello, long time first time.
I have an htpc in our living room that is in a custom built box inside of a 1946 admiral radio (totally passes the WAF). We don't have any issues playing most videos but gaming is pretty much out of the question. Looking to buy the best video card possible that will fit, basically a low profile card is the only option i think. plenty of room for larger cooler but only 4 inches of height available.
I have been waiting to play Skyrim for long enough! What kind of playing experience could I expect from the HIS low profile 6670? would the Powercolor 6750 low profile be worth the extra 50 or so bucks, energy usage and heat production? The new 77xx series looks appealing, i assume some vendor will come out with a low profile version, but when?
My budget is pretty flexible within the low to mid range for graphics cards
system specs:
graphics card: currently integrated, soon ???
cpu: Phenom II x4 955be (not overclocked)
cpu cooler: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2
motherboard: ASUS Micro ATX Motherboard s M4A78LT-M
memory: just some cheap sticks - Crucial 4gb 2x2gb DDR3-1333
hard drive: Samsung 1 TB Spinpoint 7200 (planning on a SSD 120gb upgrade next)
power supply: Rosewill RG430-S12 430-Watt Green Series 80 PLUS Certified
tv tuner: Hauppauge 2250 White Box
os: Windows 7 pro 64bit
screen: 720p 32in lcd tv
