Ok so I recently purchased this BEAST for 10$ used I'm using it in my gaming rig I just built and OMG what a beast I'm running Dual monitors with 1080I component through the S-video to my tv This can play Stacraft 2 on high maybe even ultra and skyrim OMG IT LOOKS Fantastic THI Scard was made 7 YEARS AGO!!!!? And it's the competing against the radeon HD 5770? How good? It takes 155 watts to power. I'm running it on a Corsair CX430 with a Phenom II 965 in windows 7. And it is an old card but dang It looks and performs Really well. What are your thoughts on this card?

How good is it?

What games have you tried on it?

Thanx for looking.

Also my Cx430 can handle it that's impressive. I have a ligsy's 2 molex to 6 pin in too and still running it how good!

Great card.I wouldnt mind having one.You got it for $10 right?
A steal although power consumption could be around 350w which is already taking a chunk of your psu.

Yeah it was like a 600$ card BUt seriously 10$ to play Starcraft 2 on high? I'm running a CRT/LEd setup The CRT max resolution it 2048x1536 85hz. AND THE Graphics card just makes it look BEAST. Maximum power is 155watts. :)  Com pare it to the radeon hd GTS250 and you'll see what I mean.

ATI Radeon HD 5770 is much faster than 8800GTX :non:  . 8800GTX is equivalent to a GTS250 or Radeon 4850 at max. Since you got that card for just $10 its a steal for that money thats sure. The fact is you cant buy any new entry level card which outputs even 1/5th the performance of GTX8800 @ $10. :pt1cable:

The card was a beast several years ago. It's still pretty good. :)  Some advice for future builds, though, since you're young and probably new to it. The PSU is the one component of a system you never should go cheap on. Some people have luck with cheap PSUs, some people see their motherboard catch on fire. It's pretty much the only component in your system that if it fails can kill all your hardware in one go.

That being said I'm sure someone will get on a soapbox and say spending more on a PSU is unnecessary, and as I said, some people have really good luck with cheap PSUs. Give me a decent Seasonic any day of the week. :)

I used the GTX 8800 for years. Really loved it. Odd how people spend hundreds of dollars on cards when good ol' 8800 played all my mmos on high:p

haha yeah I've been researching that I have an OK power supply but if it gets the job done and is backed up by corsair I jumped on the 17$ deal off newegg. and I did get the rebate all I need now is to buy the processor.like I said AMD pHenom II x4 965 :)  3.4ghz heck yeah I will not overclock even though i have the hyper 212 plus and ym M4A87TD evo supports it too.. but who knows I might Just MIGHT overclock but only mild like 3.7ghz MAX anyways Idk if my PSU can handle it. TO anyone whos interested my build is

PSU: Corsair Cx430 Builder series.

Motherboard: ASUS M4A87TD Evo

CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 965BE

GPU: Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTX :)  :D

RAM: g-skill Ripjaws 4gb DDR3 1333mhz 2gbx2

CASE: Cooler Master Elite 430

HSF: Cooler Master Hyper 212 plus

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 3gb/s 7200 250gb 8mb Cache HDD

DVD drive rewritable.

so yeah thats the build :)  It took me month to research and find right prices. got it toal for 350$ ish?

Let thwe conversation about nvidia Geforce 8800 GTX continue :)
