Need Advice <$700 First Build

Approximate Purchase Date: the sooner the better

Budget Range: $700 (would like this to be before rebates, but either way is ok)

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming (currently diablo 3 and LOL, but I would like to be able to play graphically intensive games like BF3) , watching movies, surfing the internet

Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, monitor

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: or (I live close enough to one, so I can do in-store discounts)

Country: USA

Parts Preferences: none

Overclocking: Maybe (don't know much about it)

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe (once again don't know much about it, but what I do know would be a cool feature to have)

Monitor Resolution: it's a 40" samsung hdtv so 1920x1080 I would assume??? (sorry I'm new to all of this)

Additional Comments: I would need a copy of windows 7 as well. I would appreciate any help you could give a first time builder. I have around $90 in Best Buy gift cards, so I used that to buy the hard drive at the end of the build. I DO NOT COUNT that in the price of the build.

Parts and Build I have already configured:

LG 22x DVD±RW Super Multi Dual Layer Burner - OEM - $16.99

Crucial 8GB DDR3-1333 (PC3-10600) CL9 Dual Channel - $35.99

Intel Core i5 3570K 3.4GHz LGA 1155 Processor - $189.99

ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Z77 ATX Intel Motherboard - $89.99

Thermaltake TR2 Series 600 Watt ATX Power Supply - $59.99 w/ $10.00 MIR = $49.99

Rosewill RANGER Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - $59.99 w/ $20 code = $39.99

Western Digital - Caviar Green WD5000AZRX 500 GB 3.5" - $73.88 (I have $90 in Best Buy gift cards)

Microsoft Windows 7 OEM - $99.99

Grand Total (w/ rebates & EXCLUDING price of hard drive b/c of gift cards) ==> $675.13

I would appreciate any and all help. I am not set to this build I have done, but I tried to do some of it on my own. Thanks for your help.

More about need advice build
  1. The build seems extremely solid and should allow for most ANYTHING you would want to do...I might suggest a Pair of these:

they would top out your cooling and get you set to have a lot of fun without having to worry about airflow in your case...the amount of airflow with these plus the rest already included should end up being phenomenal:)

    Otherwise...have fun and good luck:)
  2. Your build is nice, but I would not expect anything more than medium setting in BF3 unless you scrap the nice processor for a better graphics card. If you don't want to choose that option, I would recommend at least ponying up for a Radeon 6850 or 6870 to max out D3.
