I use cox communications digital telephone service. I need to send and receive phone calls / faxes from my existing number I can't change my number. Skype interface is perfect but I can;t keep my number and I cant recieve faxes with Skype so its out. I run a business you see. I want to use a wireless usb headset which I already own with a softphone application like the skype interface so I can copy and paste phone numbers from an email into the interface and dial out. I can do this with magic jack but the quality sucks balls so I figured there must be a way to plug my phone line which has great quality into my computer and use a softphone application to dial out. Guess what I found out? It is impossible even though you could accomplish this feat with windows 95 back in the day it is now an impossibility. I bought a zoom usb modem but I cannot find a softphone that will recognize it. I run windows 7 64 bit. I cannot accept that this simple thing I want to do is impossible. Arrrrg its maddening lol. If you have any ideas I would really appreciate it.
