Swapping a PSU in a Dell XPS 8500

My new XPS 8500 has a 460W PSU, which cuts it pretty close in regard to the kind of graphics card I want (probably a 7870). I don't necessarily want to replace it immediately, but I think I'll need to in a few years when I want to replace whatever card I get now. Can I even remove the built-in PSU in that model, much less fit in a new one?

From the looks of it, your XPS 8500 uses a Micro-ATX form factor case, so yes, you will be able to swap out the PSU without a problem.

I would recommend something like a CX500 if you're wanting to install a Radeon HD7870
