I'm building a new pc for the first time in years and I wanted to see if I could get some feedback from people more knowledgeable than myself. This pc will be used as a digital audio workstation. It will be mostly light work though. Here are the specs.
APEX SK-393-C Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
ASRock 970 EXTREME3 AM3 AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
PowerColor Go! Green AX5450 512MK3-SH Radeon HD 5450 (Cedar) 512MB 64-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card
LOGISYS Computer PS550ABK 550Watts ATX12V Power Supply With SATA and 20/24 Pin connectors.
Rosewill RK-201 Black PS/2 Wired Standard Keyboard
V7 M30P20-7N Black 3 Buttons 1 x Wheel PS/2 Wired Optical Mouse
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL
I notice two problems off the bat, "LOGISYS Computer PS550ABK 550Watts ATX12V Power Supply With SATA and 20/24 Pin connectors." Is the first one and the most important one. DO NOT buy no name power supplies, this is a no name power supply. You want to stick with the good brands like, Antec, Corsair, Seasonic. These are brands you can trust. Secondly "AMD FX-6100 Zambezi 3.3GHz Socket AM3 95W Six-Core Desktop Processor FD6100WMGUSBX" from everything I have read these are not very good CPUs at least from a gaming stand point. I have no idea what kind of performance it will give compared to an intel cpu. If you aren't gaming though I doubt it'll be an issue. But CHANGE THE POWER SUPPLY!!!!!!
Thanks guys. I'll be sure to get another ps. One more question. I bought 2 ssd's, one for the system drive and one for audio samples. Is there any real benefit for using 2 ssd's or would I be better of using the ssd for the system drive and a fast sata drive for the audio samples? Thanks
