Wireless Coverage Question

Hey everyone!

First off, I appreciate you taking the time to read this and help me with my question.

To get right to it - I need a way to cover about 350 feet from the front of my house to the end of my driveway with wireless.

What would be even better, would be to have a way to broadcast wireless 350-400 feet outside in general from my house.

Any recommendation or resources to help me?

Also, to give you an idea - I have a budget of about $250-$300 for this project.

I've done some research but I'm not finding exactly what I'm looking fot.

Please feel free to respond in tech-lingo as I work in the IT/Networking industry.

You need a directional antenna to cover that much range, which means you'll need a few if you want it to cover more than a narrow range.

Another question though - what if I'm using a router without actual external antennas?

Example: Cisco E1500

Then you need to get an external antenna for it, if it has a antenna connection. You may be able to rig something around the area that the antenna is inside the router, but won't be as easy, may not even work.
