Just wondering which one is better then the other.

The pny has 48 cores while the galaxy chip has 96. I have a chance to get a BFG GTX 295 though.

The GT 430 is the better chip.

The more expensive one is almost always better. Neither card is suitable for playing today's games, though.

ok....... A person is giving me the 295 chip so I think I will stick with that one as it is an insane chip! 448 cores on it!

You lucked out dude! That's still a pretty nice GPU even if it's several years old. What power supply do you have (wattage and brand/model number)? That 295 is a very very power hungry GPU and if you don't have enough power (or PCIE power connectors) you'll be getting crashes and glitches and all sorts of nasty stuff.

Well GTX 295 is not up on today standard (EDIT: sorry I forget to say, by terms of DX11 and Power efficiency, Performance are still today standards and it performs about a 560 ti). It consumes a lot of power. What PSU do you have?

It's a whole lot better than what he proposed earlier. It should certainly be able to play todays games (obviously not in DX11 mode). Based on AnandTech's data, it's about equivalent to a GTX 470 in performance which is no slouch.

before getting one, jut make sure that the psu you're getting is decent.

Total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in determining power supply adequacy!!! Total Continuous Amperage Available on the +12V Rail(s) is the most important factor.
