I have 1.5gb of pc150, but it doesn't matter! my question is what is registered, buffered and ECC ram!! and I know there is RDRAM pc800 but then why it is faster than DDRAM? which can pc2400???? does DDR or RDRAM gives u more frames? I wonna know all about memory except CAS2 and CAS3 cuz....I KNOW IT!

Buffered will not work in a standard system, even the location key position is slightly different, so if you can't use it don't worry about what it does.
ECC mememory has Error Correction Control. This is a handy feature if your running advanced scientific measurments on a mainframe, but does little to nothing for the rest of us. And it is a little slower.
PC 800 runs 800MHz on a 16-bit bus, so it's really not that impressive. Like 400MHz on a 32 bit bus.
PC 2400 actually runs at 150MHz or less depending on your bus speed, and transfers a maximum of 2400Mbps.
DDR has the ability to perform more quickly than RDRAM, but whether it does or not depends on the rest of your system. The only processor that can take either kind of motherboard is the PIII, which doesn't need either kind of memory becuase it is limmited by its SDR bus.

doesnt pc2400 transfer at 2400mbps? pc2400 is pc150 DDR SDRAM pc2100 is pc133 and pc1600 is pc100 equivalent... ddr rate is like standard SDR SDRAM but it is potentially twice as fast as it transfers both on the up clock and the down clock (i think)...

PCxxx to DDR conversion:

use the simple equation folks.

get the PC Mhz speed. multiply by to to get the DDR speed,
then multiply by 8 with is the bandwith of SDRAM/DDR.
i.e.
PC66 = 66.6 x 2 x 8 = 1000MB/sec or PC1000 (thats assuming you underclock your ram to such archaic speeds)
PC100 = 100 x 2 x 8 = PC1600
thus
PC133 = 133 x 2 x 8 = PC2132 (rounded to pc2100)
pc150 = 150 x 2 x 8 = PC2400
pc166 = 166 x 2 x 8 = PC2666 (rounded to pc2700)

simple huh?
dont i have a smart Hamster?
:)

My Hamster has 512MB of SDRAM @ 150Mhz CAS 2!

don't tell my hamster this but i think he is trying to manipulate me!
a very smart and cunning rodent
he also keeps telling me he is my alter-ego
but i dont believe him!

my hamster must get his exercise! lest he bite me in hard to reach places....
trust me on this one.

I have a snake with 30gigs stomach space, she'll get him! and a fast 1.3Ghz brain smartness with 1.5Gb pc150 CAS2.5 muscles and GF2 MX skin..or maybe he turns u on? NO..it can't be! he turns u on...
