SAPPHIRE HD 7970 3GB OC = 603 USD
SAPPHIRE HD 7950 3GB OC = 465 USD

is the performance difference worth the 138 usd price difference?

More about : 7950 7970

Not from a price/performance standpoint. The extra performance, as you can tell, comes with a hefty price premium.

Both are bad deals compared to the GTX 680 (if you can find it), however.

not really worth it for the 7970 OC since the 7950 can be clocked just as high as the 7970 with very little performance difference.

The 680 would of course be a good choice since it out performs the 7970 for cheaper generally.

OT: I actually touched my screen esrever.. nice avatar!

So I should wait for the non-reference 680's? I can buy reference versions @ 600 USD.

bigmack70, isn't it slightly ironic that you recommended the 680 (Both are bad deals compared to the GTX 680 (if you can find it), however. ).......yet you are running (soon to be) 7970s in Crossfire? :-) hehehe
