I only trouble you all because the new Processor an AMD 8 advertises AMD Radon HG Graphics cards on its box

so I'm not 100% sure if my existing card will work with it ...

^^ agree'd the A10s (trinity) with FM2 will be out soon. Also the A10 integrated radeon hd 7660D gpu will prob b better than ur current 7950gt. If ur going to get an apu wait for the a10s and see what gpu can run hybrid with the igpu like a A8 and the 6670.

Agreed with the above, and I'll add that, from what I can tell (hard to do any direct comparisons), the 7950GT and Radeon HD 6550D in the A8 perform basically the same, so there's no real point in putting that old dinosaur of a card in that system anyway.

But yes, definitely wait for the Trinity chips to hit the market.
