Is upgrade worth it?

hey guys ,ok so Ive been wanting to do something with my build for some time now,I have a radeon 5870 gpu with a 3 monitor setup. I pretty much run every game on maxed out settings or at least a high setting. My question is should I upgrade to a 7970 or wait for maybe a better option or more worthy of an upgrade?

Im currently runnig games like crysis at around average 46 fps on high, and mafia 2 at around 56 with everything pretty much maxed. So is it worth it?oh im running res of 5184 x 1050.

I think it actually would be at that resolution. You'll get a decent difference.

I normally go for upgrades every two series in my AMD systems, 3 series in my nVidias. So my 4890 Cfx upgraded to my 6950s, but my GTX460 system is still waiting for 700 series... So yours is about due for an upgrade according to my way of doing it. Also, what's your CPU?

    I have i5 2500k oc to 4.6
  3. I have heard some good things about nvidias 680 but just feel that amd is better for multi monitor but since most people say over 30 and definitly over 60fps you cant see the difference will I really notice it?
  4. The 7970 does have an edge over the 680 at high resolutions (expected) but the driver support is still wanting
