Possible bottleneck for gtx 680

Yesterday I received my 680, but I'm not getting the performance I quite hoped.
Some games are running good, like, Skyrim and Mass effect 3 @60fps.

But others are really struggling. I'm getting 20-30fps on The Witcher 2 and 30-40fps on Assassins Creed Revelation.

I think it's probably a cpu bottleneck, but I'm not sure.

My current specs are:

CPU: AMD 1090t Black edition
GPU: Gtx 680
Mobo: Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3P
RAM: 8gb Ripjaws @ 1333mhz
HD: 120gb Patriot Pyro SSD
PSU: Corsair 750w

Yes it is a bottleneck issue, but i think that an overclock should resolve a big part of it. Get yourself a good cooler, something like the Hyper 212+ or similar, and overclock it to at least 4Ghz.
  2. Thanks, I'll give that a go.
