Can you help me build a computer?

Hey there!

I was wondering if anyone could give me any ideas on what to buy for a computer i intended to make... there's a few things id like it to do

1. surf the internet, stream video, and process word documents for school
2. upload and edit videos taken with camcorders
3. a fairly decent gaming experience

If you hadn't noticed I'm fairly new at this, so any help would be very appreciated. (In other words im an idiot, so brief explanations would go a long way)

How are you going to make a computer if you're a newbie? I'm just curious and being objective. Also, if you specified a budget that would help.

There are plenty of guides on the internet so it is possible for a newbie to build a computer fairly easily.
