Hello Again!

After some delay I will be ordering my first build today. I am at the very top of my budget but feel pretty confident this rig will do me good for the next 3-5 years atleast.

Any last minute suggestions on savings/changes are appreciated. I will not be overclocking anything and would like to order everything from newegg for shipping simplicity. I am still a bit torn between my picked GPU and the 560 Fermi as there is a huge cost difference and the only game I play at the moment is Diablo 3.

Am I missing anything! A little nervous as this is my first build

1: get the vs228h. it is a newer model of the ve series and is thinner
2: recomend a non-reference version 670. get the asus or the evga ftw
3: get a xfx 650w power supply. its a bit better and quieter
4:cheaper case such as the antec one will fit your purpose
5: cheaper ram sets come from mushkin or crucial. get the blackline from mushkin or ballistix sport from crucial
6: if you are to get a non-k chip, there isnt any point of z77. just get the asus p8h77-v and the i5 3450.

Thanks for the response!

1: I really wanted integrated speakers in the monitor in case I ever use it for tv/xbox (even though the quality is not very good).
2: Can you explain the differences (I see the other versions are more expensive)
3: Thanks for the PSU recommendation - looks like a good one.
4: I really like the antec 302 case but that is out of stock so no dice for ordering today.
5: Will take a look at the other ram options. Really only went with what I picked because of the combo savings.
6: It is more expensive to get the mobo you recommended.

1: heres the motherboard i was talking about

http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=69888&vpn=P8H77-V&manufacture=ASUS

2: the non-reference versions have a better cooler and allow for faster overclocks. they cost more, but they last a lot longer because of the higher quality components

3: the antec 302 is cheaper here

i personally use ncix instead of newegg because they offer on the spot price matches and they ship pretty darn fast and cheap.

in the future, you can build your pc at pickpartpicker.com to find the best prices of each part.

Thanks TheBigTroll.

If I am not going to OC the GPU would it make a difference getting the non-reference version?

I really like the 302. Hopefully newegg has it back in stock soon.

yes because non-reference cards usually have a decent overclock from the factory. since the new generation cards have gpu bost which the card overclocks itself when the thermal envelope allows it. the better the cooler, the higher the boost clock. in some cases, it can go up to 1.3 ghz on the directcu2 gtx670 from asus

get this one
