Windows Server 2008 R2 on Proliant DL580 G4 Server

Greetings.

I know that Windows Server 2008 R2 is not officially supported on the 4th Generation HP Proliant DL580 server but I'd like to know if anyone has tried this. I know that the original 2008 release will work but the R2 release is supposedly a different code base. And, if anyone has installed this o/s, what issues if any did you encounter. I've been unable to find good info on the HP site. Thanks.

I wouldn't expect major problems with that. Just check if you get all the drivers for the os. Sometimes it helps, if you search for the device name and not the server type. This way I've found raid drivers for winXP on a DL380G4 under workstations with the same raid controller. Same for the network controller.
