Wont boot

can any one help me i put a new hard drive in my computer but it didnot work so i put the old one back in and now it wont boot up

it running xp pro other than that i dont have a clu as ive just got it it says boot failure put a diskette in so i put cd in and nothing happens

its not picking the harddrives up

it comes on as if its wants to boot then it tells me to put a disk in to drive a

Check the hard drive data and power cable. When you boot it up, does it sound like it is spinning? does it make clicking sound?
Try a different cable too if you have a spare. Check the motherboard for bulging/leaking capacitors.

hard drive spinnin no clicking checked all wires and bits on mother board nothing but i did notice one wire that says cpu which is not connected any where if that makes a difference or not

It may help if you post your full system specs, model number or motherboard number. etc. Are you able to get into the BIOS?

lol the comp is really old and yeah ill get into it now, what do u need is it just specs model number/motherboard number?

So, it was working, then you put in a different hard drive, didn't work. Then put the old one(current) back and won't boot.

Did the cpu fan spinning?

You have an Asrock K7S41GX mobo. Can you get to the BIOS? (press F2 when you try to power-on) Hope the loose wire you found wasn't the CPU fan...
