Hi all,
I have recently been looking at building my own gaming pc and I was wondering how much power I will need.
My system
i5 3570k
Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 OC edition
ASRock extreme4 z77
8gb Corsair vengeance
arctic cooler hyper 212 EVO
Antec three hundred two
Standard DVDRW CD drive
Western digital caviar green/black 1tb 7200rpm sata 3
windows 7
I will also be adding a pci wifi card and possibly a sound card in the future

Any ideas how much power I will need?
I was looking at the XFX Pro core series 650 watts PSU. Will this be enough?
I would also like some room to upgrade my graphics card and other components in the future and would like this PSU to last a long time.
Thanks :)

With thsoe components I'd judge around 500Watts under some load, the Core 650 would work very nicely, I'd also advise looking at Corsair's CX600 which also a pretty solid PSU. Depending on how much uprgading headroom you want you want to jump the ladder a little and get a 700-800Watt PSU, though that much would seem unnecessary.

Yes more then enough and quality assurance Seasonic made , Bronze rated, and a 5 year warranty. For a system using a single AMD Reference Design Radeon HD 7870 graphics card AMD specifies a minimum of a 500 Watt or greater power supply. The power supply should also have a combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 27 Amps or greater and have at least two 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.
