Last surround question!

Ok, I am so confused, my friend has built in AC97 (or whatever it is called) sound chip and he has 2.1 system os speakers but it is NO surround and simple sound. I have Sound Blaster live! value and 2 speakers that are surround. They has "3d surround botton" and when I press it the sound becomes kind of a surround, I can turn it off too and the sound becomes just simple sound. If I'm going fro Creative labs FPS1000 or(4.1 surround) FPS1500 will I get the botton OR this surround sound? not just simple sound from 4 speakers and s sub? it is autoatically on? and if I turn the bass on FPS1000 all the way up will I hear clean sound? FPS1500? thi is the reason I buy them cuz mine speakers have a very nice sound but awful bass and when I listen to MP3s with 3d sound botton on - I don't hear voices almost at all, will that be corrected with those speakers I'm about to get?
