3770k or 3570k

yes i know all the basics, the 3570k for gaming and the 3770k for hard video editing.

I was wondering how much more performance you get with hyperthreading with lightish video editing. i am just making vids for fun for youtube, is the performance increase worth $100?

i will aslo eventually have 2 video cards, thats why the 850w, with a little extra room for pumps and various other components

For light video editing, I wouldn't worry about it much. You're going with K series processors, so I'm assuming you're going to overclock.

An i5 at ~4.4 or 4.5 GHz will absolutely crush everything you throw at it... Sure, the i7 will do it a bit faster, but for $100 savings? I'd buy an SSD to store video on - that'll make WAY more of a difference.

850W is completely overkill for almost every dual GPU setup.

I just got a 3770K from tiger direct for 280 - 11 (fat wallet 4% cash back) 269 total.
i think they still have them on semi deal for 300.

ok, also with the psu, the 750w was about the same exact price, so why not get the bigger one? lol

you wont need the 3770k. the 3570k is plenty for light video editing. just overclock it when you feel you need more performance.
