Hey Guys!
My new graduation present is ready. Here's what i've come up with after a week or two of research.

Approximate Purchase Date: Tomorrow or weds

Budget Range: ~800

I pretty much play BF3 and a few choice games. I am not a graphics snob but I do need a solid rig.
Already own: Radeon HD 6950, 24' monitor, and the case/keyboard/mouse/speakers.
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg seems to have the best prices for this stuff...
Overclocking: yes
SLI or Crossfire: Yes
Monitor Resolution: 1920x1200 and possibly 3D resolutions

Here's the linx
Total Cost on Newegg- $783

{again ill be using my current vid card, a 2 gb Hd6950}

Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz

Mobo-ASRock Z77 Extreme6 LGA 1155

Ram-G.SKILL Trident X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200)

OCZ Agility 3 AGT3-25SAT3-180G 2.5" 180GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

  1. You won't need that expensive Z77 board if you are going with a sandy bridge chip.

    Try this one maybe?

You will also need an aftermarket cooler if you want to OC. Try the Hyper 212 EVO for lighter OC's or the TPC-812 for more.
  2. Thanks for the call on that board. I looked at the prices and took your suggestion!
I think i found a cpu fan that I like, which appears to be right between the two you sent me.
