Is this the right PSU?

Hi, currently i am looking at getting:

i5-3570k
Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO
AsRock Z77 Extreme 4
Seagate Barracuda 1Tb
G.Skill Ares 1600MHz 8Gb (2x4Gb)
Powercolor HD7950

+the OCZ ZT 750w. It has some pretty good reviews, but i was wondering if this is good and 750w would be enough if i do some overclocking and maybe add another 7950 in crossfire.

Ty in advance.

  1. No it's not very good it's o.k. but i wouldn't recommend you buy it i would suggest Rosewill CAPSTONE Series CAPSTONE-750 750W http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182264
  2. PC Power and Cooling Silencer Mk II 750W High Performance 80PLUS Silver SLI CrossFire ready Power Supply
    $20 off w/ promo code EMCJNNH34, ends 10/8 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703027#top
  3. Yeah, they look great, esp. the Rosewill one. But i live in Australia so :( cant get them off newegg.

Other then that one, i could get a 600w Silverstone Strider Plus or 620w modular Antec HCG for a similar price. I dont think that they could do crossfire though.

Let me know what you think.

P.S. This site would be preferred if you can suggest a better alternative for around the same price or cheaper.

    ty for help
  4. Well maybe the one you were looking at is o.k. it's listed here on the TH Power supply thread http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/322966-28-list-recommended-psus#
  5. I have a very similar system although I also have a SSD alongside my 1tb HDD and a OC AMD 6850 with 3 120mm fans

    I run it with this

    More than ample!
  6. Plus are you really gonna get another card to crossfire..would it not be better to get a newer video card further down the line.

Every thing is going the way of power efficiency

  8. OK, so if i wasnt going to crossfire, would it be better off getting the 750w one that i listed earlier (OCZ ZT 750w) or instead getting a "better quality" 600/620w one like the Antec high current gamer or Silverstone strider plus. The 750w in the OP is about the same price as the 600/620w psu's by silverstone and antec.

    Ty again
  9. I would say get which you prefer i don't trust OCZ TH does though because their recommending it so it must be decent enough

Here the difference antec HGC 620W Seasonic made, 80Plus Bronze, 48A of 12V power, 3 yr warranty. OCZ ZT 750w Great Wall made, 62 amps of 12V power, 80Plus Bronze, FULLY modular, low price, 5 yr warranty
  11. Ty for help, i think i will go with the OCZ Zt just in case i want to crossfire later. If something does go wrong, it does have the added protection of a 5 year warranty, so thats good to know. Appreciate your help.
