The above is totaled out at under 1800.00 before mail-ins. Its been a number of years since Ive done a build and would like any input or opinions. @ 2000.00 I will be stretching my budget but it is doable. I am torn between a desktop and a gaming(sager 17") laptop.

That cpu you have up there is a locked cpu and does not allow for over clocking. You want this down down below or if you plan on doing a lot of video editing then look for the 3770K with hyper threading.

Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I53570K

Unless you plan on using that RAM is a hair comb it's going to do nothing for you other than impede the cpu h/s. Look for Low Profile RAM like either of these sets below. That Corsair low profile RAM also comes in black, and that G.SKill Ares RAM also comes in orange...if color means anything to you.

CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CML16GX3M4A1600C9B

G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C9Q-16GAB

Unless you have plans on running three of those 670's in tri SLI unload that 850w psu. This one down below is over kill but it's modular and it's in your budget.

PC Power and Cooling Silencer MK III 600W Modular 80PLUS Bronze Power Supply compatible with Intel Sandy Bridge Core i3 i5 i7 and AMD Phenom

This board down below will over clock just as well as that MSI board and will save you a few dollars. It's an option worth looking at.

ASRock Z77 Pro4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

No overclocking can save you lots of money since you can run with a stock cooler and be just fine.

You also should only need 8GB of ram, more is wasteful.

with the money saved I would get a nice full tower case. It also has the advantage that the case is one of the few things you can re-use if you ever upgrade your computer again.

Going for a full tower is something I am unable to do due to the size. Ive had a full tower for many years and sadly in the current area I am at, going with another would not work. Ive made a few changes to the current setup with the help thus far received. Thank you! Also, while I am not currently going to be running an SLI setup, I will be in the nearer future.
