Making my first computer.
Please tell me if these parts will work together.
Also let me know if I am missing any crucial parts.
All of the parts are available on TigerDirect.
I am a bit of a n00b on the computer side so please post in n00b friendly language. :p

Purpose: Home use and gaming, no intense video editing, mainly want to play skyrim diablo 3 and battlefield 3 on decent settings.

Approx Date of Purchase: within the next 3 days (day of post is 6/4/2012)

Other: I would prefer having some LEDS in my case with obviously a windowed case.

Price Range: less than $1000

SLI/Crossfire: I don't know what that means so you guys can tell me what it is and I'll decide.

I already have a keyboard, mouse, and Windows 7.
About the parts you have shown me,
I do like the CD DVD writer because it is cheap
However I don't like the case because it is mid-ATX and I have heard that air flow is good for computers, thus I would prefer an ATX case.
Also, the graphics card is a little on the expensive side at $250
The other parts seem fine to me.

For that case, at that price point, wouldn't I be fine with my own case?

Yes, pick whatever case you like. I was doing that late last night and didn't even realize I substituted a case that was about the same price.
