Greetings,

I am considering updating my graphic card with a budget of around 150€. I have two realistic choices - either Asus Radeon 7770 1gb for 135€ or Club3d Radeon 6850 1gb for 150€.

Currently my rig is E7200, 4gb ram, 8800GT 512mb and Vertex2 SSD, but I am planning to do system update after the Intel Ivy Bridge launch, so that point is kind of moot. I use graphic card for 1080p gaming and triple monitor output. Also, I do a lot of 3D rendering and I guess graphic card also affets that?

I have understood, that 6850 is little faster than 7770, but 7770 uses significantly less power and I care about stuff like that.

So, which one do you recomend? Is the 135€ acceptable price point for 7770 if 6850 goes for 150€?

I can find a 6870 for 150?

Isn't the 7770 a 128 bit card while the 6850 a 256bit card? I would choose a 256bit card over 128bit all day unless the memory and core speeds of a 128 bit card are substantially higher.

Here's a review with a nice comparison chart that might help.

Not in Finland I am afraid. 6870 is ~200€ and those are pounds in the link, so that is also over 150€.

What I am really interested in, is that do I see a real life difference in game performance between 7770 and 6850. Experience anyone?

Will you "see" a real life difference, maybe, maybe not.
Which card is better? The 6850. There's a reason the 7770 is cheaper.

Again, if you are even a somewhat serious gamer, I would not waste money these days on a 128bit card.

6850 is better than 7770 the 7770 have a good performance for the energy it uses but for overall performance 6850, but i would invest a little more cash and go with 6870.

Since your not going to upgrade everything else until Ivy Bridge is released I suggest holding off on the GPU upgrade until then.Perhaps you can save up some more cash and go for something like a 7850.The 2GB of VRAM will really help you with Ultra Tectures and aid in pushing 3 monitors even if it isn't eyefinity.
